Modified or Specialty Containers

Standard containers work well for most storage and transport situations, but sometimes businesses need a specialised solution. Whether it's over-sized cargo or hazardous goods, our containers can handle any and all unique challenges.

Specialised Containers For Unique Situations

While standard shipping containers usually work well for general storage and transport, ContainerCo understands that businesses will often have unique needs that require a specialised container. That’s why we offer a wide variety of customised shipping containers, built to meet a number of specific requirements.

Whether it’s handling oversized cargo, storing temperature-sensitive goods or safely accommodating hazardous materials, our specialised containers are designed to tackle a range of challenges.

Here’s a summary of the different types of speciality shipping containers that are available at ContainerCo.

Flat Rack Containers

These are ideal for transporting oversized or oddly-shaped items that wouldn’t normally fit in a standard container. They have a reinforced base, collapsible sides and provide an open structure that makes them much easier to load.

These are most ideal for securing large machinery, heavy equipment or vehicles. They’re also commonly used for shipping boats, industrial pipes or timber – making them a robust solution for industrial businesses that need to transport items between destinations.

Dangerous Goods Containers

Specifically for the storage and transport of goods and materials that are considered dangerous or harmful. With built-in safety features like ventilation and secure locking mechanisms, they ensure dangerous substances remain in compliance with safety regulations.

These are best applied for storing and moving chemicals, flammable substances and toxic materials.

Open-Top Containers

Perfect for transporting bulky items that need to be loaded from above. Open-Top Containers have a removable tarpaulin roof, allowing them to be filled and unloaded with a crane. This means you can store tall, or irregularly-shaped cargo with ease.

These containers could be utilised for storing and transporting scrap metal, logs or machinery that couldn’t easily be manoeuvred through standard container doors.

Double Door Containers

With doors on both ends, these containers make the loading and unloading process quicker than a standard container – which offers only one access point.

The double entry points mean you can organise the contents inside much easier, reducing the time you spend searching for particular items stored within. It’s improved flexibility for both storage and transport.

Four Door Containers

These containers take convenience to the next level by offering four side doors along the length of the container. This design means you’re able to access any specific part of the container, without having to unload the entire unit.

Four Door Containers are usually preferred when it comes to converting the container into a retail pop-up store, or when inventory management is required. It’s full visibility for quick retrieval.

Blast Freezers and Chillers

Blast Freezers and Chiller Containers are designed for temperature-sensitive cargo that needs to be kept at a consistently low temperature throughout its storage. It has advanced refrigeration systems with adjustable temperature settings and insulated design.

These containers are often used in the food, pharmaceutical and medical industries to protect perishable goods, ensuring the items remain fresh and safe during transport or storage.

Walkthrough Containers

Modified units with internal pathways, shelves or gantry systems that allow easy movement within the container. They’re often used as mobile workshops, storage facilities or field offices.

When accessibility and organisation are critical, these containers can be customised for a range of uses thanks to its flexible design.

Side-Opening Containers

These containers offer full-access doors on its sides, which allows for the loading and unloading of wider cargo that might be difficult to fit through the narrower end doors.

It’s a great solution when it comes to storing and transporting items like furniture, pallets and construction materials that need quick access or rapid loading. We recommend pairing these containers with a forklift for a swift loading process.

GlowBox Containers

A unique style of shipping container, GlowBox containers are equipped with interior lighting systems – perfect for environments where visibility is crucial.

When it comes to night time operations, events or sites where regular lighting may not be sufficient, the GlowBox set up means your work can continue without low visibility interrupting your flow.
